Allsorts (Nottinghamshire)
We are now into our 19th year.
The sky's the limit.
We are a self help group in the Nottinghamshire area for people with sensory and physical disabilities aged between 18 and 40. The group now raises its own funds and does not rely upon grants.
The group members organise social outings to pubs, cinema, theatre etc.. Last year we organised a day trip to York.
We have just released our 2012 calendar with lot's of different venues including Antibo's, card making, an evening walk around Attenborough nature reserve followed by a meal in a local pub, the ever popular Nottingham Princess evening meal; the greyhaound racing is very popular too.
The new calendar also includes weekend activities, ideas so far include Cadbury's World, Matlock, Tissington trail and a narrowboat trip.
The group usually meet on the 2nd Thursday of the month but this may change due to events.
The group members are helped by a strong group of enthusiastic volunteers.
If you would like more information about the group, either about becoming a member or volunteer please
e-mail Jane Hawthorn on allsortsnotts@ntlworld.com
We would like to thank everyone for their huge efforts with fundraising, in particular Nottingham Rotaract, Rothera Dowson and the Ella Kirk Foundation, Nottingham University and our own volunteers for their sponsored swims, jumble sales and church fetes.
